Lemons are a great addition to pack while on a camping trip or while hiking. Lemons are packed with Vitamin B6, copper, potassium, magnesium, zinc, flavonoids, antioxidants and phosphorus. But we don’t just mean for eating, they are a great tool to pack because of their dual purposes in nature.
Lemons are somewhat acidic so they help as a great cleaner after cooking, and give a nice freshness. Consider using a lemon and salt for your cutting boards, and wooden spoons. This will help tremendously.
Because they contain a high amount of citric acid, lemons have an acidic pH. Lemon juice has a pH falling between 2 and 4, which makes it 10,000–100,000 times more acidic than water. Breaking things up is something lemons are great at actually.
